Canon TS8630 is supported for waste ink counter reset in WICRESETPRO. Use a USB connection and the preparation instructions for this exact model in the app.

Canon PIXUS TS8630 · Error codes 1700 and 5B00

Whatever language your printer displays, the exact support code helps identify the problem. Check whether your Canon TS8630 shows 1700 or 5B00 before starting a reset.

Warning / Approaching capacity

1700

The absorber is almost full.

Canon allows the warning to be acknowledged with OK on the touch screen and advises arranging service. This is a warning stage, not proof that the absorber has been serviced.

Stop / Full condition

5B00

The absorber is full.

The TS8630 manual identifies this as a full absorber condition and says printing cannot continue. Canon directs the owner to request service.

The model name matters

Use TS8630 guidance, not just “Canon TS”.

The Canon PIXUS TS8630 is included in the WICRESETPRO supported list. Match that exact name to the printer label before choosing instructions or purchasing a key.

Keep all characters of the error code when asking for help. A screenshot of the message, in any language, helps support identify the displayed code.

A nearby model number does not confirm the same service-mode procedure. Do not borrow a button sequence simply because another printer has a similar touch screen.

From the message to a prepared printer

Your TS8630 reset plan.

WICRESETPRO is used for the supported electronic counter operation. Start the reset only after the model, fault and printer preparation have been checked.

A / Establish the fault

Save the exact message.

Separate the almost-full warning from the full condition. Compare the displayed code with the TS8630 manual and consider Canon’s service advice.

B / Prepare the printer

Check service mode and connection.

Follow the connection and Canon service-mode instructions applicable to your TS8630 and the version of the program you use. If the exact-model procedure is unclear, ask support before entering service mode.

Then complete the supported software operation.

  1. Open WICRESETPRO

Use the download linked from our website. Have the prepared printer and your purchased key ready before starting the operation.

  2. Paste the key into Token

Enter the complete key and select Reset. Keep the printer powered on and its connection stable while WICRESETPRO reports the result.

  3. Restart after successSwitch the printer off as requested by the procedure and turn it on again after a successful reset. Confirm that the original support code has cleared before resuming normal printing.

What a reset cannot do

Stored ink does not disappear.

The TS8630 manual explains that ink used during operations such as cleaning is absorbed by the waste ink absorber. When it becomes full, printing stops.

A software counter reset does not remove that ink. Canon says absorber replacement is not an owner-replacement task and advises requesting repair. Consider the physical service requirement alongside any software operation.

Questions, answered

Canon TS8630 reset questions

Your next step

A clear code. A clear next step.

Confirm your TS8630 preparation and absorber service needs, then use WICRESETPRO for the supported counter operation.

Check the current price and currency in the store. An unused key does not expire. After the first reset, the key can be reused on the same printer for 24 hours.

Prepare Canon TS8630

Choose the application version for the documented operation on Canon TS8630. Do not infer the availability of every service tool from the existence of a platform download.

WICRESETPRO · Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1

The Canon module uses USB. Follow the service-mode procedure shown for the exact model and firmware in the app. Do not substitute a button sequence from a nearby model.

Keep internet access available for model data and operation approval. Clear pending print jobs and keep the printer’s power and data connection stable. Available in 60 interface languages.

Read, reset and verify Canon TS8630

  1. Use the USB connection and the model-specific service mode requested by WICRESETPRO. Wait for stable detection before continuing.
  2. Read the available waste ink counters in WICRESETPRO and wait for a completed result. A missing reading is not a zero reading.
  3. Waste ink counter reset is supported for this model. Select that operation and follow its preparation instructions in the app.
  4. For a supported full reset, enter your valid Pro reset key and start the operation. Keep the connection stable until the app reports the result.
  5. Restart only when instructed, then read the counters again in Pro to verify the outcome.

Once a supported printer is connected and ready, the reset itself can take about a minute. Installation and preparation can take longer.

Resetting a counter does not replace physical absorber maintenance.

Your reset key

Unused keys do not expire. After the first reset, you can reuse the key on the same printer for 24 hours. Unused units in a Multi-Key pool do not all expire when that printer’s reuse period ends.

Choose one Multi-Key with the purchased pool or the corresponding number of separate codes. Check the current product, price and currency in the store.

Questions and answers

Is this guide for the Canon PIXUS TS8630?

Yes. It is written for the exact TS8630 model, which appears in our supported printer list. Check the model label rather than treating a different TS-series printer as interchangeable.

What does 5B00 mean in the TS8630 manual?

The Japanese TS8630 manual describes 5B00 as a full ink absorber and says printing cannot continue when the absorber is full. Canon instructs the owner to request service.

What is different about TS8630 support code 1700?

Canon describes 1700 as an absorber approaching full capacity. Its instructions allow you to acknowledge the warning using OK on the touch screen and advise arranging service. The warning and the full condition are not identical.

Can I use this guide if my printer displays another language?

Yes. Keep the exact support code and TS8630 model name; they remain useful regardless of the display language. Choose your preferred website language in the language switcher. Send a screenshot to support when the message or preparation is unclear.

Should I follow service-mode steps for another TS printer?

Do not choose a sequence only because another model has a similar name or display. Use the exact-model guidance, and have support confirm the method when your model is not explicitly identified.

Which program and connection should I use?

Use a USB cable for Canon TS8630 service procedures in WICRESETPRO. Its normal printing connection does not replace the USB service connection.
