Printer diagnostics and maintenance with WICRESETPRO
Go beyond waste ink counter resets. WICRESETPRO brings printer information, diagnostic reports, test prints and supported maintenance procedures together in one application. Start with a counter reading in BASE mode, then use PRO mode when you need additional service tools.
Read the printer before you start
Identify the connected printer and review the information it provides: model, serial number, firmware, status and available counters. WICRESETPRO refreshes the USB device list when a printer is connected or disconnected and can read data automatically when you first select a printer.
Diagnostic information depends on the model. Available reports can include print totals, cleaning counts, head identification and recorded errors. A failed reading is not displayed as a zero counter.
Epson service functions
For supported Epson models, WICRESETPRO can read and reset waste ink counters, including additional counters such as the borderless printing pad where supported. A control reading checks the result after a reset.
Maintenance tools can include nozzle checks, test prints, available head-cleaning levels and ink charging. Selected profiles also provide error-history management and EEPROM backup and restore. Before an EEPROM restore, the application checks the file and model, backs up the current data and verifies the write by reading it back.
Read and reset supported Epson waste ink counters on Windows, macOS or Android, using USB or Wi-Fi as available in your printer setup. Additional service tools have their own model and connection requirements.
Canon service functions
The Canon module uses USB and the operating mode required by the selected procedure. WICRESETPRO includes service-mode instructions for supported models.
Depending on the model, tools include EEPROM reports, available counter readings, test prints, nozzle checks, head cleaning and ink-system maintenance. The application distinguishes counters that can be read from counters that can also be reset. After a supported reset, a control reading checks the result.

Questions and answers
Is ServiceToolPro a separate application?
ServiceToolPro is the service-tools section of WICRESETPRO. BASE mode focuses on counter reading and resets, while PRO mode provides the additional tools available for the selected printer.
Do I need another utility to read waste ink counters?
WICRESETPRO reads supported counters itself. You can inspect the available readings in the application before choosing the required reset procedure.
Can I perform every service operation over Wi-Fi?
Epson waste ink counter reading and reset can use Wi-Fi in a network-connected printer setup. Canon service procedures use USB. Additional service tools may have different connection requirements; use the connection specified for the chosen operation.
Can every counter shown in a report be reset?
No. A printer may expose a counter for reading without supporting a reset through the application. WICRESETPRO marks these cases separately.
