Complete step-by-step instructions

  1. Turn off the printer.
Press POWER and wait for the printer to turn off. Leave the power cable and USB cable connected.
  2. Hold STOP.
Press and hold STOP. Keep holding it throughout the next step.
  3. Also hold POWER.
While holding STOP, press and hold POWER. Wait for the indicator light to come on.
  4. Release STOP. Hold POWER.
Release only STOP. Keep POWER held down.
  5. Press STOP 5 times.
Keep holding POWER. Press and release STOP exactly 5 times. One press means pressing and then releasing the button.
  6. Release POWER.
Release POWER. Wait for the printer to finish starting up, then check the connection in the program.

POWER = power button (ON). STOP may be labelled RESET, RESUME or CANCEL. Do not count the initial hold as a press.

Prepare Canon iB4000 for a WICRESETPRO session over USB. This model has a service-catalog record. That record describes preparation and does not by itself confirm waste ink reset support.

Identify Canon iB4000 and check the available function

Match the complete iB4000 model name on the printer with the detected device. Keep the exact suffix when selecting a procedure. The model-specific preparation above distinguishes the required controls, press count and any documented alternatives. Do not use a different printer’s button sequence.

USB connection, counter reading and reset

iB4000 — Not supported by WICRESETPRO

Download WICRESETPRO

Before buying a key for Canon iB4000

Confirm the exact reset function in WICRESETPRO first. A service-mode sequence, a supported connection or a diagnostic reading alone does not establish reset compatibility. Keep the detected model and current counter report when contacting support.

An unused Pro key has no expiry date. From the first reset, the same key can reset the same printer again for 24 hours. In Multi-Key, those repeated resets do not consume additional units; unused units remain available.

Counter reset and physical maintenance

Resetting an electronic counter does not clean or replace the waste ink absorber. Complete the physical maintenance appropriate to the printer’s condition before continuing to print.

Questions about Canon iB4000

Can I use Wi-Fi for the Canon service procedure?

No. Use the USB connection specified for Canon iB4000. Wireless printing does not replace this service connection.

Does entering service mode reset the counter?

No. Service mode is preparation. Read the counters and check whether the required reset function is available for the detected printer before buying a key.

What should I do if the printer is not detected?

Check that the cable carries data and connect it directly. Close other printer tools and check the model-specific preparation above. If detection still fails, send support the exact model and the message shown by WICRESETPRO.
