Epson ET-2876 Reset: Waste Ink Counter Guide

An ink pad service message does not tell the whole story. Start your Epson ET-2876 reset by checking the waste ink counter, then use WIC Reset Connect for the supported reset.

  • ET-2876 listed as supported
  • Windows + direct USB
  • One key · one reset

01 / Understand the stop

Ink in the tanks. A different counter inside.

The ink you use for printing and the waste ink collected during maintenance are different things. An absorber-related service warning concerns the waste ink system, not simply how much printable ink remains.

Read the complete warning

Messages about an ink pad reaching the end of its service life or a waste ink counter need a counter check. Keep the exact wording from the printer or computer rather than guessing from a blinking light.

Do not reset an unrelated fault

A paper jam, poor print quality or a communication error needs its own diagnosis. Treat a counter reset as a specific operation, not a general repair button.

02 / Two tools, different jobs

Check with Utility. Reset with Connect.

Searching for an ET-2876 resetter can lead to several downloads. For this procedure, keep the two programs and their roles separate.

Counter reading only

WIC Reset Utility

Select the Epson connected by USB and use Read waste counters. Note the readings and close Utility before starting the reset program.

The actual reset

WIC Reset Connect

Once the ET-2876 is prepared, paste your purchased key into Token and start the reset. Do not enter a Connect key in Utility.

03 / A clear sequence

Prepare the ET-2876, then use your key.

  1. Confirm the model and the fault

Match ET-2876 on your printer with our supported list. Record the service message and check that the intended operation is a waste ink counter reset.

  2. Make a direct USB connection

Use a Windows computer, connect the printer directly and clear pending print jobs. Close other printer programs that could interfere with communication. Follow the Epson preparation guide.

  3. Read before you reset

Use WIC Reset Utility to read the waste ink counters. Resolve any detection or communication problem before using a key, then close Utility.

  4. Complete the reset in Connect

Open WIC Reset Connect, paste the entire purchased key into Token and select Reset. Keep the printer powered and connected until the program reports the result.

  5. Restart and check the result

After a successful reset, switch the printer off for ten seconds and turn it back on. Confirm the original warning is gone before returning to normal printing.

Questions, answered

ET-2876 reset questions

Is the Epson ET-2876 supported by WIC Reset Connect?

Yes. The ET-2876 is included in our supported printer list. Confirm the exact model and an appropriate waste ink counter fault before purchasing a key.

What is the difference between the two Epson downloads?

WIC Reset Utility is used here only to read Epson waste ink counters and check USB communication. WIC Reset Connect performs the reset. Your purchased key belongs in Connect, not Utility.

Can I do an ET-2876 reset from my phone or over Wi-Fi?

Use a Windows computer and a direct USB connection for this workflow. A phone, macOS or a Wi-Fi printing connection is not a substitute for the required reset setup.

Is an ET-2876 resetter download the same as a free reset?

No. The WIC Reset Connect software download is free, while a completed reset uses a paid key. Read the printer counters and confirm compatibility before you buy.

What should I do if the reset is interrupted?

Save the message and check the USB connection. For a technical interruption, open our replacement-key page and enter the complete old WIC Reset Connect key. Contact support with your model, order number and screenshot when help is needed.

Your next step

Ready for the reset?

Finish the counter check first. Then get a key for WIC Reset Connect and keep the Epson instructions open while you work.

Check the current price and currency in the store. A key is for one reset.

Reset Epson ink pad service

If your Epson shows messages like “Ink pad is at the end of its service life”, “Ink pad service required” or “Waste ink pad full”, you can reset the Epson ink pad service using a WicReset Connect key. The program resets the internal waste ink counter, so the printer works again without visiting a service center.

  • Works as a reset Epson ink pad service solution for most EcoTank, L-series, ET-series, XP, WF and Stylus printers.
  • No hardware resetter needed – only a Windows PC, USB cable and WicReset Connect.

FAQ (short)

Q: Do I need to replace the physical ink pad?
A: In most home and office cases you only reset the waste ink counter with WicReset Connect and keep using the printer normally.

Q: Is this a one-time reset?
A: Each key resets the counter once. You can repeat the procedure in the future with another key if the message appears again.
