Canon PRO-310 is supported for waste ink counter reset in WICRESETPRO. Use a USB connection and the preparation instructions for this exact model in the app.

Canon imagePROGRAF · A considered reset

For a Canon PRO-310 reset, separate the electronic counter from the physical absorber. Check the reported fault, confirm the right preparation and make an informed repair decision.

Read before acting

1700 and 5B00 need different responses.

1700

An almost-full absorber warning

Canon identifies this as an ink absorber nearing capacity. Its manual allows the printer’s OK button to be used to continue printing and advises contacting a service center.

5B00

A service error to investigate

The PRO-310 manual directs you to a Canon service center. Before choosing a software reset, confirm that the fault and printer preparation match the supported operation.

Preparation is not interchangeable

Confirm the PRO-310 service-mode method.

Our compatibility list includes the imagePROGRAF PRO-310. That is not a reason to copy a button sequence from the PRO-300, PRO-100 or another Canon printer.

The general Canon guide explains service-mode preparation, but do not choose a sequence merely because the printer looks similar. When the instructions do not explicitly identify the PRO-310, ask our team to confirm the method before using a key.

One repair decision. Two separate checks.

The counter is only part of the picture.

Electronic

Waste ink counter

WICRESETPRO performs the supported counter operation after the printer is correctly prepared. This is the software part of the procedure.

Check the completion message and retain a screenshot for your records.

Physical

Ink absorber

The absorber still contains the ink already collected. Resetting a number does not clean it, replace it or prove that it can hold more ink.

Arrange inspection and service as needed. Do not continue using a printer with signs of leakage.

After the checks

A deliberate PRO-310 reset workflow.

  1. Prepare a dedicated connection

Use a Windows computer and connect the PRO-310 directly by USB. Close competing printer applications and complete the confirmed model-specific service-mode procedure.

  2. Open the correct programUse WICRESETPRO. Keep the full instructions and your purchased key available, then enter the complete key in the Token field.
  3. Run and verify the counter operation

Select Reset and allow the program to finish without unplugging the printer. Save any error message rather than repeating the operation blindly.

  4. Return to normal operationFollowing a successful reset, turn the printer off as requested by the procedure and then restart it. Check whether the original fault has cleared before resuming a print job.

Questions, answered

PRO-310: what to establish first

Your next step

Confirm the setup. Then reset.

Once the exact preparation is established and absorber servicing has been considered, choose the WICRESETPRO key for the supported operation.

Check the current price and currency in the store. An unused key does not expire. After the first reset, the key can be reused on the same printer for 24 hours.

Prepare Canon PRO-310

Choose the application version for the documented operation on Canon PRO-310. Do not infer the availability of every service tool from the existence of a platform download.

WICRESETPRO · Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1

The Canon module uses USB. Follow the service-mode procedure shown for the exact model and firmware in the app. Do not substitute a button sequence from a nearby model.

Keep internet access available for model data and operation approval. Clear pending print jobs and keep the printer’s power and data connection stable. Available in 60 interface languages.

Read, reset and verify Canon PRO-310

  1. Use the USB connection and the model-specific service mode requested by WICRESETPRO. Wait for stable detection before continuing.
  2. Read the available waste ink counters in WICRESETPRO and wait for a completed result. A missing reading is not a zero reading.
  3. Waste ink counter reset is supported for this model. Select that operation and follow its preparation instructions in the app.
  4. For a supported full reset, enter your valid Pro reset key and start the operation. Keep the connection stable until the app reports the result.
  5. Restart only when instructed, then read the counters again in Pro to verify the outcome.

Once a supported printer is connected and ready, the reset itself can take about a minute. Installation and preparation can take longer.

Resetting a counter does not replace physical absorber maintenance.

Your reset key

Unused keys do not expire. After the first reset, you can reuse the key on the same printer for 24 hours. Unused units in a Multi-Key pool do not all expire when that printer’s reuse period ends.

Choose one Multi-Key with the purchased pool or the corresponding number of separate codes. Check the current product, price and currency in the store.

Questions and answers

Is the imagePROGRAF PRO-310 included in the supported list?

Yes. Our list names imagePROGRAF PRO-310. This confirms the listed model, but you still need a suitable waste ink counter fault and the correct preparation for your individual printer.

Can I use a PRO-300 button sequence on the PRO-310?

Do not assume that a procedure for the PRO-300 or another Canon photo printer is the correct PRO-310 procedure. Ask our support team to confirm the exact entry method when the guide does not identify your model.

What does Canon say about PRO-310 code 1700?

Canon describes 1700 as an almost-full ink absorber warning. Its instructions allow you to press the printer’s OK button to continue and advise arranging service. That acknowledgement does not reset the counter.

Does a successful counter reset mean the absorber is empty?

No. A software reset changes the electronic counter, not the physical amount of absorbed ink. Plan inspection and servicing of the waste ink system separately.

Will this repair colour problems or a blocked printhead?

No. This guide concerns a supported waste ink counter reset. Diagnose print quality, ink delivery, paper handling and printhead faults separately instead of treating them as the same problem.

What should I check before buying a PRO-310 reset key?

Confirm the PRO-310 model, record the complete support code, prepare a Windows computer and USB cable, and establish the correct service-mode procedure. Ask support first when any of those checks is uncertain.
