PROGRAM
WIC RESET CONNECT

is used to reset the counter of the absorber, the used ink container, which is found in Canon printers.

Canon printers track the number of head cleanings and pages printed. Based on this data, they estimate how full the waste ink container is, which often isn’t actually completely full. In such cases, the Wic Reset Connect program offers an excellent solution, allowing you to easily reset the printer’s counter and continue using it. Eventually, the container will physically need replacement once it’s truly full. However, until that point, you can avoid costly servicing by simply resetting the counter.

Some models may have a unique procedure for entering service mode. You can find the documented procedures on our website:

CANON – method of entering service mode

NOTE: TO CLEAR THE CANON PRINTER ERROR:

  • The printer must be put into service mode – without this, the counter cannot be reset.
  • The printer must have no other errors than 1700 or 5B00, indicating that the life of the ink absorbing pads is coming to an end.
  • In service mode, the GREEN LED should be continuously on.

Do not purchase a key if:

  • Your printer is not on the supported models list.
  • When you put the printer into service mode, the green or orange LED blinks – you must first resolve other errors (such as an unprinted document, missing cartridge, unrecognized cartridge, etc.).
  • You cannot put the printer into service mode – attempting to enter “service mode” by pressing the “STOP” button a different number of times than specified will not allow you to perform a reset. This enters a programming mode, in which a reset cannot be performed.

Q: Is this a one-time reset?
A: Each key resets the counter once. You can repeat the procedure in the future with another key if the message appears again.
